Profile
Prof. A.K. Puri has been a Senior Professor at FORE School of Management, Delhi and Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Ghaziabad for over 18 years. He has 14 years of experience in Banking as Manager with the Indian Overseas Bank. He is a member of the Board of Governors in a couple of educational institutes. He is an examiner and moderator for Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
Prof. Puri has conducted a large number of Management Development Programmes both for private and public organisations. He has also organised and conducted Faculty Development Programmes for faculty of business schools. In his illustrated career, he has initiated a series of innovative strategic steps to strengthen academic activities and improve academic work culture.
Prof. Puri has pioneered and introduced Management Development Program activities at IMT, Ghaziabad as the Chairman, MDPs. He organized and conducted a series of in-company programs for private and public sector companies at the institute campus and respective company sites with repeat runs. He has worked as the Secretary, Academic Affairs- Head of Academics. He has also pioneered the institute’s foray into distance learning activities as its Founder Functional Head. He has been the Finance Head (Disbursing Authority), authorized signatory for IMT for over 12 years, Member, Administration and Finance Committee, the highest decision making body of IMT, for over two years and was nominated member of executive body of the IMT Trust.
Prof. Puri was the Chairman, Management Development Programs, at FORE School of Management, where he successfully enlarged, strengthened and executed scope of MDP activities by holding a large number of MDP’s.
He has been invited regularly as guest faculty by some of the leading Banks’ training colleges. Besides, Prof. Puri is a visiting/guest faculty at Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, National Institute of Financial Management, Faridabad, Department of Operations Research, Delhi University, Advanced Level Telecommunication Centre, Ghaziabad, and Indira Gandhi National Open University among others.
He has been a management consultant to National Backward Classes Finance & Development Corporation, Lakshmi Precision Screws Ltd, Rohtak, Pulse Polio Program of Delhi, Government, Matri-Suraksha Abhiyan of Delhi Govt., Bharat Vaibhav Anushthan, Indian Medical Association, Samtel Group Company, Cyber Media India Ltd., G.T.B. Hospital Delhi and Bio Medical Waste Management practices among Nursing Homes.
Prof. Puri has participated as expert on interview panels for faculty selection at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Usha and Lakshmi Mittal Institute of Management, New Delhi, Shiva Institute of Management, Ghaziabad, Institute of Management Research, Ghaziabad, ITS, Ghaziabad, Rajkumar Institute of Management, Ghaziabad, Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad and FORE School of Management, New Delhi.
