EDPs & MDPs
Fortune Institute in joint association with Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) conducted a 5 day MDP on ‘Travel & Tourism’. The MDP was conducted by Prof. Anuppam Bhaskar, Professor at Fortune Institute. The programme had an overwhelming response from the participants.
MDPs IN THE PAST
Foreign Exchange, Customs Clearance, Bill of Lading and Shipping Risk Management
Organized on the 8th & 9th of September,2007 at FIIB campus, this was a corporate
training programme organized for the executives of the Transworld Group ranging
from frontline functions up to the general manager level. This group is a Rs.3000
crore organization with main businesses in ship owning, shipping agency, freight
forwarding, multimodal logistics, consolidation etc. There were 20 participants
from mainly documentation and marketing functions.
The broad contents of the EDP were:
Foreign Exchange module: Letter of Credits/DP/DA- clean payment
L/C Confirmation, Exchange rates, Foreign exchange risk management etc.
Customs Clearance and Policy: Import clearance Process, IGM, Customs/excise
Duty tariff, Customs act 1962, Export Clearance Process and Post shipment documentation,
EGM. Interacting with customs from agencies point of view etc.
Bill of Lading module: Bill Of Ladings - Types - How to construct
and read a B/L, Carriage of Goods by Sea Act, Consolidation cargo and freight manifests
etc. Shipping risk management: Ocean Losses & Preventive actions/Indian Govt Policies
on shipping, Principles of Marine & Storage Insurance, Claims lodging & recovery
procedure, Insurance types and Tariffs etc.T he participants gave an excellent rating
to the quality of the inputs in the training and the way the entire thing was so
professionally managed.
FIIB in association with FIEO conducted the two-day Training Programme on ‘Presentation
& Communication Skills’ on 6-7 September 2007 at Niryat Bawan, New Delhi.
The 7th Training Programme was conducted as part of the series in association with
Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO). Instructors included Dr. S. Panda
and Prof. Parul Singh from FIIB. Participants included senior, middle and junior
executives of companies like: SARA Group, Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of
India Ltd., Consulting Engineering Services (India) Pvt. Ltd., and Web Overseas
Ltd. attended the programme besides international participants from U.S.A. The modules
included both verbal and non-verbal communication, public speaking (video recorded)
and cross cultural communication. The programme was well appreciated by one and
all.
Shipping, Containerization and Multimodal transport.
This was a corporate training programme organized on 25th & 26th of August, 2007.
It was meant for frontline and middle management level executives of the Transworld
Group. This group is a Rs.3000 crore organization with main businesses in ship owning,
shipping agency, freight forwarding, multimodal logistics, consolidation etc. There
were 19 participants from mainly operations and marketing functions.
The broad contents of the EDP were:
Shipping Module: Shipping terminologies, types of ships, types
of charters, liner trade, principal trade lanes, container shipping etc.
Multimodal Transport: Agencies involved in air /sea transportation,
role of these individual agencies, container business, role of international integrated
logistics services etc.
Ports and Containerization: Ports/ ICDs/ CFS, unitization and palletisation,
container loading precautions, handling equipment etc.
Executive Development Programme on ‘Financial Statement Analysis’
It was conducted by Dr. Ahindra Chakrabarti on 20th August, 07 at HAL Management
Academy, Bangalore. Total participants were 25.
Executive Development Programme for Senior Managers of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.
(HAL)
This programme was conducted on 2nd & 3rd August, 07 at HAL Management Academy,
Bangalore. The programme was titled ‘Financial Decision Making’. The faculty for
the programme were Dr. Ahindra Chakrabarti & Prof. Abhijit Roy. Total participants
were 24.
